I was having the same issues. Connecting, staying connected, remembering networks. Not working the new POCKET feature.
When I bought my kobo it was fine. After updates it wasn't. Nothing worked.
But now I just backed up my reader.
I did a factory reset (too bad for stats)
And the
latest update was installed through kobo desktop.
It worked perfectly. No problems now
