Basically Symbian still way out in front, but Android with dramatic growth and sniffing at RIM's heels for the number two slot.
This is based on shipments for Q2 rather than sales, but the article notes that the sales do tend to match the shipment trends.

Wow this is quite impressive it looks like Android has passed up iPhone world wide. And is only 1% way from catching up to RIM.

Considering that 2.2 was released earlier this year, I'd be real surprised if 3.0 came out this year. I'm guessing a lot of tablets will come out with 2.1-2.2 with the promise of upgrading to 3.0. Regardless nobody knows what google has in store for Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread)
Samsung has been sending letters to individual developers informing them that their products do not work for larger format devices.
