I am sure I just jinxed myself, but the new one seems to be working as it should. 9 days in and at 78% battery life. No wierdly swining battery readings, no random powering off, nothing. Drained 4% in the first 12 or so hours from the first full charge including about 30 minutes of reading in there. Since then it drains about 2% a day if I don't use it that day and it drains maybe roughly 1% per hour of use or a little less.

On the days I have read 30 minutes or less in the day it drains about 2% that day, if I read more than 30 minutes up to somewhat over an hour (maybe up to 90 minutes) it drains 3% that day and reading 2hrs or more drains about 4% that day (I haven't read more than 2 1/2hrs in any given day).

So, frankly I damned happy now with my Nook ST!
