I just launched a prototype of a simple epub creator I've been working on. It uses OpenOffice for part of the backend conversion, so it supports many input formats. Here's a quick description of the creator:
- Takes in .odt, .doc, .docx, .rtf, etc. document formats
- Runs XHTML through Tidy HTML
- Outputs .epub, .mobi, and .pdf formats
- Validates .epub file with epubchecker
- Puts all heading 1’s and 2’s in table of contents
