I bought my jetBook regular last summer and, at $170, I thought it was a great deal. I think the ECTACO "list" price was $250, the Kindle was ~$300 and Sonys were ~$250. Prices on ALL products have come down considerably since then, JB included.
Another point of comparison between JB and JB-lite: Original JB has MP3 and audio-out capabilities, while the Lite does not. If you use the Chinese firmware, JB can also do TTS. In any case, remember that ECTACO and Aluratek are resellers of the hardware, so they are limited in a sense to how cheaply they can get it.
