I have experienced the exact same problem on my Sony Reader 505. Takes between 10 and 20 seconds to turn a page, but only for a new chapter, usual speed for other pages.

In my instance, I am reading a book bought from recommended Sony bookstore, ePUB format.

Any ideas on how to fix this much appreciated.
