OP: Why not Pocketbook 360? It's very portable and easily handleable, plus it supports lots of formats and it reads PDF mightily fine for its 5''. However, small screens may be troublesome for comics (depends on the comic of course, I'm reading manga decently). The price is 199 dollar, more expensive than Sony and Kobo, but it has premium features which really enhance reading (the first of them avoiding the need to convert). It has an expandable memory too.
