I was wondering the same thing, so I hacked the MR servers, poked around a bit, and found the following thread archived in the moderators only forum...

Hi there fellow moderators. Hope everything is going well with you all. I've, and by "I", I mean "we", have a problem. Over in the Announcements forum we have that win an iPad thread. Well, it seems that someone over at Apple found out about another thread where someone said something negative about iPads and, well... they yanked the promo.

Well, the news is not getting any better. No one at Apple will return my emails. Nate - did you really sell the iPad they gave you...? They're not happy.
The shums in the forum are getting restless now and asking about it.

Ok, this isn't working. Anyone have any other ideas? I mean really good ideas. No matter how they act some of the shums, err, I mean participants, on the site are sort of smart and they'll figure it out, and some are downright scary, we really need to do something.
