I've been a LONGTIME slackware guy, which probably says a lot about my biases. YMMV, of course.

I've been using Ubuntu on a dying laptop, and am replacing it with a netbook.
I took a look at the Jolicloud website. Jolicloud seems like the AOL of Linux; Good for a starting point, but everything seems to need to be done through them. They don't recommend adding apps that are not on their list because of potential conflicts...
The netbook is going to be my primary computer for teaching. I will be running a few Windows apps with WINE, the Smartboard program for interfacing with the smartboards at my school and connecting it to a tablet computer that I can carry around the classroom and write on with a stylus. Will Joliecloud support all this, or should I continue with Ubuntu?
