We don't have to find a place to go for fireworks show. The neighbors and I have a late night party in the yard and sit back in our chairs to watch all the illegal fireworks being shot into the air. I have to admit some of them are spectacular! One homeowner even set off a finale of multiple fireworks.
It seems as though they have a sixth sense about when police patrols are around and it goes quiet. This year I also noticed that we didn't have the helicopters or planes circling in the air... budget cuts (which meant that there were even more illegal fireworks going off).
I hate to admit it, but I love it when folks in the neighborhood set off fireworks. My wife and I go out to watch. Sure, it's dangerous, and I wouldn't do it, but I'm not about to call the police; I'm having too much fun watching. I just wish they'd be more careful, especially since the vegetation is so dry from the lack of rain recently.

A couple of nights ago some of the neighbors set off a specular display rivaling the professionals. I'm surprised they didn't catch the trees on fire. Then last night someone fired off some kind of flares that floated through the neighborhood in a triangular formation. I told the wife not to be surprised if someone calls in a UFO report. I'm surprised that none of this activity has brought the police around, but I'm not complaining as long as our house doesn't get burned down.
