That's exactly the case.
PixelQi is still making adjustments to their production line. And is iterating designs faster than any company that I know of.
That ironicaly may lead their potential clients to believe that the tech is not mature enough.
PixelQi has already produced millions of screens for the OLPC, people seem to forget that.
But at this stage it still can't offer OEMs the requested volumes.
Plus, their game plan is to eventually integrate part of the graphic processing (refresh control) and that is complicated.
But we have very positive signs:
1-The display is available at Makershed. (albeit in very small quantities, which points us to volume issues.)
2-By Q3 Android will extend supported resolutions to accommodate tablets.
3-The Innoversal prototype seems to be on track.
4-Look out for HP....
