I do however think there will be a Kindle 3 right around the corner. Lucky for me, I am going for the Graphite so I don't have to bother with waiting for the next Kindle to be released.

That's probably right. Gotta let the Graphite DX ride the wave for a bit before introducing something else that's going to supplant it.
