This is bizarre. This makes me think that either they have no plans to fold, or they're acting in bad faith. Not sure which is more plausible, although I strongly hope it's a).
Neither. They have an automated program that takes note of people who buy individual magazine issues and don't have a subscription. A few weeks later they send those people that canned email. Someone just didn't remember to turn off the script that does that.
