I've never seen a Nook but have held a Kindle and decided not to get one even before I found out how (in my mind) overpriced they were.

That would be true only if there was the Kobo or the Kobo Wifi for the same price. In that case I would obviously choose the Wifi, who wouldn't? But that isn't the case at all. I was expressing why I chose the Kobo over a Nook or Kindle at the time of buying. I'd still have gone the Kobo over the Nook if they were the same price because of all the other reasons I gave. Your selective quoting really doesn't do justice to the overall picture I painted about my love for the Kobo without all the bells and whistles.
