I'm sure that's the case for any purchase-all depends what your spending threshold is. Yours seems to be that $200 is fine, but $500 is where your self-delusion/rationalizations set in
Others have different levels, I'm sure. I personally don't use my Sony 505 anymore, but that was as much a function of my unhappiness with e-Ink as my switch to the iPhone/iPad for my reading needs. I don't feel the need to justify my purchase of the iPad by forcing myself to "enjoy" reading on it though...I just prefer reading on it.
