One last thing from the person who has no clue about Macs. Make sure you do not have a iPad, iPhone, Ipod touch charging on your system. Calibre may try and connect any of those first and ignore the 505.

Also the code tags are used by highlighting the text you wish to enclose and then selecting the # symbol from the advanced editing menu. This stops your data from scrolling forever down the page.
