It's definitely not fragile. I just toss mine in a courier-type bag and slog through the subway with it.

I have seen defects in pieces of glass before, though, so I suppose that's possible. What about tempering? I don't know anything about the specs on eInk displays. Could sudden, drastic temperature changes cause a problem?
