This is a great book...Though the book deals with some serious issues and raises many interesting questions (such as the role of faith in our lives and how disaster changes that role), the author in general uses a light hand to deal with those issues and questions. I honestly didn't expect much from this self-published book, despite the reviews. I thought it might end up being corny or trite. Not the case at all. I've got to say I was blown away by New Coastal Times. It grabbed me from the beginning and kept my interest throughout. I had a difficult time putting this book down…The writing was wonderful. I knew this story would be about hurricanes and other natural disasters, but the most pleasant surprise I found was the refreshing humor that's woven throughout the tale.
