I had heard very little of this man or about the Royal Geographic society before I read this book. What a fascinating read to be able to follow these men and there hardships as they went out exploring uncharted jungle territory. Truly tough explorers who persevered despite very little of today's modern equipment.

I just saw your post in the
What are you Listening to Right Now thread, but before I could post my smart-alec reply ("Did you find the book on YouTube?"), it had already been moved.
Just kidding, of course. Don't feel bad; you're not the first to post a reply to the wrong thread. I've done it myself once or twice; it's not difficult to do when you're surfing around various forums.
Seriously, though, I
am "reading" one book currently on TouTube. The Longfellow translation of Dante's
Divine Comedy. The readers are all volunteers, so the quality varies from Canto to Canto, but overall they've done a fine job. The book begins
here; if anyone's interested. So far I've finished the Inferno, and am currently in Purgatory.
I had been reading two other translations of the Commedia concurrently, but they are both on the back burner for the moment as I concentrate on finishing up some other books I've started first. I will return to them.
