Basically, this was a story about the fact that a very second rate, intellectually-challenged TV presenter had not seen England's goal in the World Cup due to a power cut in the area he was watching the match. IN WHAT UNIVERSE COULD THAT POSSIBLY BE CONSIDERED NEWSWORTHY?

Unfortunately, in the celebrity obssessed, lowest common denominator culture we find ourselves, stories like this could well be considered worthy of greater visibility than alerting readers/viewers to a potentially fascinating natural phenomenon.
fortunately most venues have an entertainment section and a science and technology section. thank goodness! which doesn't mean that Lindsey's lastest woes aren't splashed out there for all to see ( and hopefully ignore)
