The best for scanned (without OCR) PDFs: Sony PRS600 vs B&N Nook (vs Foxit eSlick)?

Hello people, few words from you or/and advices would be great...

Little intro for my problem: I study physics and have a lot of scanned books in PDF format. Few are plain text/OCR and the most of them are just "scanned images". Now they are not my primary source from which I am learning. But in most cases I need them lets say about 10-15 minutes during one hour of learning or less. So I'm buying an eReader out of need so I can carry many books with me around to help me when I'm stuck with something.

The main purpose would be something like this:

To open a pdf, zoom it if the letters (in a "picture" because most of them are not OCR) are too small, read it for a while, like 3-5 pages.

1.My first choice was Sony PRS-600. It has cool/handy stuff like selecting text and adding notes relatively easy via stylus and zooming via touch screen.

2.Then I saw B&N Nook, looked little into specs. WiFi, web-browsing (beta), android platform(options for applications in future?), extra 3.5" color touch screen, got little taken away with all those extras... But I realized all that options are not my primary needs. Couldn't find how it preforms in zooming/scrolling large pdf scans. Does anybody have any experience with it?

3.The last is Foxit eSlick Reader. It got my attention just because it was using Foxit software. I use Foxit on my computer and it seems good reader with many options. A drawback is just 4-level gray scale and could not find how it preforms with scanned PDFs. Also it has no touch screen of any kind so inputing notes (I don't think this is a option that I would often use but...) would be nightmare/impossible?

The offer of books in store by a specific company are of no value for me because most of books I need are not available and I use most of my own PDFs. For the same reason 3G/WiFi is not important.
If I need to use some book more often I think it would not be a problem to run some software to remove the margin/convert it to OCR text for better display, I know my way around computers. But I wouldn't like to do it for every file because I need just small portions of PDFs and dont know in advance which part I will need.
I'm not in a hurry to buy it so debate all you think is important. The problem is I have no place to try different models because I live in Croatia, Europe and the offer of eReaders in my country is equal to 0. My friend will buy it for me when he comes from the States to my country on vacation. So there is no returning it if it doesn meet my needs

My price target is around 200-250$. Been thinking abound Sony PRS-900 and for that money I would rather add few hundred bucks and buy some small 14" Dell but that is not what I need here...

So your opinion, experience and/or advices are welcome to help me decide. Also speak freely if you think some other model would be better.
Tnx in advance and sorry if my English isn't good, its not my primary language.
