Oi!

Hey Guys n Gals.

My name is Travis(thou i go by renswic IRL as well) im almost 28, been married for almost 1.5 years and i have a 14 month old son who I'm really hoping will take up for my love of reading.

New to the forums and still newish to ebooks. But I just bought a Sony PRS-300 as it was the only reader at Walmart. Why Walmart, because i made a deal with my wife, if and when i sold her old laptop i could use the money towards a ebook reader(because she had just upgraded her laptop). Only catch was that it required dinner out for the 3 of us(me, wife and 14month old). A few hours later the laptop sold and i got my reader (yah). Started reading ebooks on my Moto Q via Mobipocket then later on my laptop again via Mobipocket. I'd say that 50% of my ebooks are in PDF format and so far there has been no problems with reading one on my 300 other then 5-20 sec page turns, i have calibre DLed and will install it soon to try and speed up page changes via tweaking the PDF or converting to epub.

My likes are simple, easier to carry around then the laptop, the USB cable is friggn awesome, dang near 3 feet long and works on my picky USB HDD and MP3 player, its small and easy to hold one handed, easier on my eyes to read then the laptop, moto q and paper print(odd i know on the last one)

Dis-Likes are slow page changes, thou i think its more file related then anything. Sonys site says it will read .txt files, yet they hang up on transferring to the software's library(the other 50% of my books are .txt) gunna see if calibre will convert them though.

That's about all i got. Happy reading all
