Completely different.
я in Czech would be written
ja, and is the same sound as in English

ř does not really have an equivalent in English or other language (with possible exception of Polish) that I know of.

ž (in Cyrillic written as
ж )that the vast majority of foreigners (even those that are fluent in Czech) pronounce the same way as
