It looks as though I wasn't completely transparent in my describing my intentions. I wouldn't be using the Iliad to watch the scope, I would have it in front of me and use the Iliad to work the control system, which is fairly static...just some sliders and text edit boxes. This way I wouldn't have to run long cables from some random piece of equipment so that I could have the scope near a computer so that I could simultaneously fiddle with the controls and watch what happens on the scope.
The main question is has anyone tried to do anything similar to this, even opening a remote xemacs and editing a file?
