library books do expire

Whoops, the earlier commenter was right--the books do expire even if you haven't synced your nook.

I finished my expired open book, closed it, tried another expired book, and got an error message. Then I went back to the book I'd just finished, tried to reopen it, and got an error message.

So, the books do expire without syncing. Fortunately they can be checked out again.
