I'm especially happy for the US. Though I just read something interesting about the US and soccer. They wrote that most people in the US don't like tying in sports, almost none of their sports allow for that. And that it is actually worse to tie than to lose. So even though the first two games of the US team were wins in most peoples eyes around the world, for US citizens it felt like losing. That might explain part of why soccer isn't that popular in the US..
Actually, soccer is popular in the States. To me, the problem is that they insist on doing it their way. It has to be a monetary show first.
There are more kids playing soccer than all sports combined...in North America!!!
