again, i do not want you or anyone to use the word. i don't care what word you use, and i am still sincerely baffled by the degree to which you clearly do care what word other people use, and your insistance on attempting to make that decision in their place and impose your preferences.

my comment was in reply to someone saying they saw no reason to use a french word instead of a japanese word since sony likely invented these devices. in that context it was completely relevant to point out the historical french presence in this field.

You are welcome to call your reader anything you want,
yes, I am, as we all are. thank you for acknowledging that.

but when you use that term in my presence then I will exercise my right to tell you how silly it is.
you have the right to use whatever word *you* choose. you also have the right to participate in discussions here as long as you show respect for others and remain polite. you do *not* have the right to insult people and belittle their choice of vocabulary, nor to derail discussions on other topics over other people's choice of words. behaviour like that is called trolling. please take a moment to re-read our guidelines, if you have any doubts about what is appropriate.

The world has perfectly good names for e-readers and they will be used and continue to be used.
absolutely. and one of them is liseuse. you don't have to use it, other people may choose to, it really doesn't have anything to do with you.

Also for your information the Sony predecessors (the clie and other) to their first official e-book reader (with e-ink) were likely out before your references in any case. Palm devices and pds etc. etc.
that really doesn't change anything here, i'm not sure what your point is.

How about that world cup?
sorry, i haven't been following it, i don't much care about football. is the world cup relevant at all to this discussion ?
