I think you have to follow the money on this one.
Gizmos like MP3 players cost hundreds of bucks less than a decade ago. EReaders of every type over time will fall in price to basically free. Therefore, the source of money is entirely based on the number of books bought, not on the device prices. Real techies don't matter, they will end up stealing most of their books anyway. Super-cheap Ereaders will explode in marketshare by being almost free and super-easy for non-techies to handle (those are the people with the money).
