Kathy just confirmed by email that the A81 is offered with Android 1.6.
I emailed her to ask if there is a hardware issue preventing 2.1 so will be very interested in the answer. I read that there is a 1GHz A8 MID soon to be offered (end of June) with Android 2.1 which already available to smartq v5 and v7.
Android 2.2 has significant efficiencies in web browsing to offer, I hear on the android fora so its worth pressing for.
BTW is EMS to UK at $38 worth paying for? I presume post office shipping would be cheaper. Kathy offers return within 1 week if fault found. Is there a system check program that would check the internal hardware, like sisoft sandra for windows?
