You're probably quite right on that. What I'd like to see is a turn around on that. Maybe they should add some features to drive people to their product. All things considered, if I can pretty much get books anywhere (assuming I'm willing to remove the DRM) and be able to convert them to a format that can be read on just about any reader then I'd be silly not to go for the reader that offered me the most value.

Maybe Sony should create the high end readers, focus on the reading snobs who are willing to pay a premium for the 'perfect' reader and who are not afraid to get content from other places. I'd pay premium for a reader I knew was going to be top of the line and would be regularly updated.

I guess the problem with that though would be hardware upgrades.
