Honours BA in English Language and Literature
Then a two-year Journalism post-grad program (that was a *huge* mistake!)
Then a one-year teaching degree (I currently work as a French teacher and love it)
One can also add additional qualifications to the basic teaching degree, and I collect those every year. I have since added, in addition to the French qualification, an Intermediate add-on (let's me teach up to Grade 10) and a course in computer teaching. The French and Computers are three parts (but you can start teaching once you have Part 1). I have 2 of the 3 for French and will likely take the third, but I don't plan to take any more computers. The course was way below my computer level and I was very bored (the most taxing assignment creating an 8-slide Powerpoint show) and the Part 1 is enough to give me official credibility for both my summer job and my school year one. At $900 a pop, I'll pass on Parts 2 and 3

As for other qualifications, I have been told that once I have the French stuff done, I'll reach diminishing returns on the continuing ed unless I spring for a Master's Degree...
