For myself, glasses are the easiest. I've worn contacts, enjoyed them, but got bored with the cleaning routine. Now I know you don't have to do that anymore, but now it's watersports. I'd never remember to take them out for pool or surf, and be losing them.

I'm up for simplicity now, so the Lasik stuff is a bridge too far for me. I'm one who avoids medical interventions on my body, for assorted reasons (not all rational), and glasses to me fix things simply (it's a bit like our watering system. TL1 has a timer set up on it - me, I'd just go turn the tap on every second or third night. Less convenient, but...simple)

I'm used to looking after glasses as well, in that, as mentioned, I don't leave home without a pair of sunnies either on or perched on my head (an act so habitual I've on occasion taken them out at night). Now I'll have prescription sunnies, which'll replace my current non-prescription ones (perhaps not totally - I love the lightness, neutrality and clarity of Oakley's sunglasses).

I'm actually almost looking forward to it (it could still all just be vanity...just now for glasses.

Cheers,
Marc
