less than amazon's. yes. but put it this way. if sony stops makign ereaders, i can take my documents (without stripping them) to the nook or load them on my iphone in txtr. if i decide to ditch my kindle. i'm stuck. pretty much vendor lock-in with amazon. now, amazon has been great about getting their app out on every platform they can. but what if their war heats up with apple and they decide to discontinue the apple version?
ok. put it this way. amazon has a single platform (kindle) but a huge market share including their hardware devices and the app available on multiple platforms.
ADE is available across multiple hardware and software platforms from multiple vendors.
i'd say the second has a far better safety net than the first.
