Seems to me that Sony has put too much importance on their Connect Store. I suppose they couldn't resist the lure of the selling content cash cow.

But on the other hand, it might not be as easy as it looks from the outside. There are licensing issues and every company seems to be jealously guarding their drm. I don't expect Amazon/Mobipocket to be different It doesn't look like the customer is going to get out of the locked device/drm jungle anytime soon.

All these competing formats are a bit like playing "musical device". Dunno what will happen when the music stops.
