I picked this up at Fictionwise a while back as the teaser sounded promising. It's certainly a breezy read -- and somewhat convoluted. There's very little that's credible, in fact, but then it's not intended to be taken seriously. Eyes wide-open, it's a passable effort.

But it's a loooooong stretch to call this "hard-boiled" unless you put Who Framed Roger Rabbit? in that category. I think the more serious fault is the relentless cartoonishness, no doubt intended, is unfortunately not balanced by memborable turns of phrase or clever prose which feeds the soul.
