Not so much a 'loss' but a revelation of how bad England are playing. In all honesty there was only Gerard on the pitch who showed any skill and determination. Rooney looks confused most of the time. Heskey, despite his assistance in the early goal, isn't good enough. Some of the younger players have the determination, but they're not sure footed enough to play at this level. Crouch should have been on from the start, but wasn't. There's no cohesion in the squad, nothing like the German side who look natural and at home with each other and their game.
I suppose, being English, it's only natural that we come at this with an air of defeat before we've actually been defeated
