Read "The Gift of Fear" for Pete's sake!
I gave out 30 copies of that book to people I care about.
My sister thinks every smiling stranger is a long lost friend. Do you know what kind of toll that takes on people who care about her?
I care about you people. Protect yourselves. Sure this was a minor incident. Harmless. But next time?

Hopefully Zelda's encounter will prove to be harmless, and the person won't bother her again.
As for me, I'll talk non-commitally to anyone who talks to me, then clam up and run a mile as soon as it gets too personal/uncomfortable, or they get too pushy. This is by my standards of too pushy etc, which got me a reputation of being stand-offish and a loner when I was at school... I've only ever twice given my details to some-one I later regretted giving them to. One turned out to be a bit of a phone stalker, the other turned out to be a (suspected) scientologist who was also trying to build a nuclear reactor in his spare room and used to post a lot on a photoforum about how London was a war zone - all of which came to light after I'd met him
