I agree with you. Given the Sony's excellent battery life, what on Earth would be the point of taking a retrograde step to using AAA cells? It would cut the battery life to a fraction of what it is now for what possible benefit?

I think personally that the 8" screen of the iLiad is pretty much the right compromise between size and portability. Going from 6" to 8" may not sound like much, but it makes a tremendous different in "readability".
