Yes, they should.

Ok, many are you would say the last thing we need is another eReader device platform, and you may be right. But if you look at it from Microsoft’s perspective, the company is dying a death by a thousand (mobile) cuts, and there’s no doubt they need to be a player in more markets than just desktop software and video games. Mobile is, as we’ve heard, the future, and an eReader is basically a application-centric mobile computing device.
