I can hardly think to blame a device that gives you options to do things other than read.
it's also less likely that future devices will only display books as well, the kindle has had email and web surfing, no matter how slowly, for a long time now. nook got games recently. others will be forced to go multi-function or simple be passed over by consumers as "limited"
