Any proceeds from this ingenious endeavor are going to support the Lupus Alliance of America, and they are offering a cash prize between $40 and $200 (depending on the length of the winning submission) for the right to include your contribution as part of the fundraiser.
I anticipate an overwhelming flood of entries. One of those will be mine, assuming I can only figure out what in the world to say!
If every writer who lurks here—as well as every participant at The Friday Challenge!—would also consider this as a personal challenge, I suspect we could see some truly (--stellar? volcanic? clown-sweatering?--) creative pieces.
