For obvious reasons they could not tell Brits to go to Latvian and Polish shops, but they pointed out that we can purchase Kefir Culture Kits on the Internet and make Kefir at home. You take one sachet, add milk and it starts to proliferate

I bought one but have not tried it yet because I had mother-in-law visiting and didn't want any unasked for tips

I think I am going to try it in a few weeks.
