My my theory is even more fundamental than that. It is based in evolution and being able to predict the world around you in order to survive. In other words being able to predict (i.e. hypothesize) and test those predictions and then use them in future situations in order to survive. And adapt them as things change. The core of science/scientific method as evolution.
