Not a good solution - Stanza desktop does let you transfer books to Stanza iPhone, but all the purdy formating gets lost.
Use Calibre. Drag ePub into Calibre, make sure to activate the content server (in the settings), then start Stanza iPhone and look for Calibre.

I read exclusively on the iPhone - but if you're used to a larger screen I can see why you won't make it your default reader.

But Calibre + Stanza will tide you over until iBooks runs on the iPhone.
