Post Lets just agree to disagree

I really don't understand where you're coming from on this. I bought the JBL, love the JBL, and have already succeeded in putting the font that I want to use on it (see screenshot above).

We're having a nice discussion about how people can do this if they want, right now, and you come in like the buzz-kill police telling us we should have bought an inferior product for more money just to do something we can already do with the JBL (and open office).

I'm not complaining that I want a Kindle, I've used both and prefer the JBL. You just don't seem to get it. If the device is easily capable of something (like additional fonts), people with the know how will find a way to make it do what they want. And we've already succeeded, we have a way to get our fonts onto the device! All this entirely without your help. In fact, all you've done is denounce the effort from the beginning. What point are you trying to make?

If I were asking for wifi on this thing, you would have a point. The hardware is not capable of wifi (although with a usb port it is trivial to add the ability). You would be angry with someone for buying a GPS unit to use in their car and you would suggest to them that they buy a Rolls Royce because they come with a GPS installed. WTF man?

As it stands, you just don't make sense. You seem unwilling or unable to understand what this device is capable of. You don't have the slightest understanding of the hacking community and mindset, apparently.

Would you be the first person to shoot down gr8npwrfl's 'Android on jetBook' project? Would you tell him he should have just bought a Droid Incredible, even after he had managed to get Android running on a jetBook? Because that is exactly what you're doing here.

As a counter point to your strange argument, I suggest that you "go buy a Kindle or something", because you lack the knowledge necessary to hack the JBL. Do you see what kind of nonsense argument you're making?

And by the way, other than this strange neurosis you have about dictating what people should and should not be doing with their bought and paid for device, I generally find your contributions to the forum helpful.
