Today I did the first rough belt sand of the scrap piece of wood I grabbed out of a builders skip and which I'm going to use as the base of the lamp I'm making. It's hardwood, no idea what type but probably gum, and the grain and colour looks nice. No picture of it at the moment, but here's what's going on top, with a light put inside it:
The light going inside is a colour-changing globe.
