Hey, I have very little bad to say about my Palm experience. I still love my T|E dearly. It does great work for what it is. In fact it wasn't but a few months ago that a friend offered to trade his Axim x5 for my T|E and I refused out of hand. But then I got the bug for wifi, which I'm not positive I will use, but I think just around the house it might be nice. And I spend so much time reading on it that I've got to have a bigger screen and a jog wheel. Now I have to tap the bottom of the screen or hit the down D pad and it's just not comfortable. I also justify this purchase with the hope that I can use it for some network analysis in my moonlighting computer repair job. If you combine a wifi PDA with one of these sweet things from ASUS (which you can get at NewEgg for $50) you can get on any network anywhere.

There are a couple of Palm options but they have their own negatives. The T|3 really doesn't appeal to me. I've never liked the slider and a wireless card for it is not cheap. There's also the Clie TH55, which I lusted after for a little while. But with the Clie line apparently dead, Sony's proprietary crap, and the price still around $350, it doesn't work either.

And none of this would have mattered too much if I couldn't call it a birthday present. I've pretty much given over all my bday to this thing, and passed on upgrading my aging desktop. Hope I don't regret that!

So I'm not really changing sides, I'm adding one. I'll reckon that my experience will be like Craig's, using the Palm less and less. My wife will have it mostly, and it will be a nice change from her old M100. I hope to document the experience more or less, as the transition should be pretty interesting in our geekish sort of way...
