i was one of those skeptics who declared early and with a loud voice "No IPad for me." I won't bore you with my reasoning, but it wasn't political. I neither love nor hate Apple, Amazon, Sony etc. I thought I was being pratical and I did not like the price tag.

Now, having purchased one and having read several books and spent several multi-hour reading sessions I am an enthusiast. And in particular for reading, two reasons in particular: One, I can read whatever I like and pretty much from whomever I like, thanks to the multiple reading applications, mobi, e-pub, PDF, whatever, it really doesn't matter anymore. Second, the different reading environments and the ability to customize my reading environment.

The arguments of it being heavy, prone to glare and less eye friendly than an e-ink screen are all true to some degree, at least in my opinion. On the other hand it remains a great device and for me given my experience as both a Kindle and Sony owner. if I had to live with only one device, it would be an IPad, no question.

On the other hand, I'm glad to live in a world with multiple choices!
