I just tried 0603 and I could not get it to connect via USB to WinXP.

I am back to 0513 using the CoolReader 3.0.30 plugin.

FWIW, it does NOT appear that 0603 was an attempt to fix the battery drain issue. These are Buggins' release notes:

Test Firmware

Changes in CoolReader:
- Added support for CHM
- Improved support for EPUB, HTML

Updated Bulgarian translation of the interface.
For CHM - CR3 is set as the main reader, the Chinese plug - an alternative
For EPUB - Adobe - the main reader, CR3 - Alternative

V3 +, V5: made in the previous test
V3: made of firmware from zl_tsanev
Again FWIW, I don't think that the battery issue is a CoolReader issue because I am using Buggins' latest on my V3 and there are no battery issues. That makes me think that the problem must lie in the base Chinese firmware that Buggins is putting the new CoolReader into for the V5?
