That is a serious regression which somehow must have slipped through testing. We'll try to fix that in an intermediate release.

In fact it's the beta that had the zoom level screwed up. The RC1 corrects that but as a side effect, zoom levels set with the beta turn out wrong now.

We've certainly heard your requests. A more intuitive/usable way of using continuous mode and panning (both portait and landscape) is on the roadmap but it won't make v2.0 software.

It should only ask the time/date when the realtime clock loses track of time (when the battery has run completely dead) OR when your time is not set correctly (i.e. the system time is set
before the build time of the firmware).
